Artists on our products.

It is our absolute pleasure to work with so many wonderful and talented artists as they enjoy the great products we have available.
At Mothertone, it is important to us that we support the great seasoned players like our Grammy winners, and continue right through to helping clearly talented younger players, in making and taking smart and important steps forward.
We provide amazing tools for real artists.... Pro gear only here.

Roy "Futureman" Wooten

Five-time Grammy®Winner

Roy 'Futureman' Wooten is a super creative, five-time Grammy® award winning artist who always pushes the boundaries - and he really loves his set of drums that we custom built for him at Mothertone in Nashville.

On top of the superior basic tone produced by the Sleishman system, we did plenty of custom work at Mothertone HQ. We inverted the bass drum to "face north", put together some amazing twin pedals to suit. We then fitted custom maple shells with 'f' holes cut into the shells. This set-up allows Roy to truly express himself for the first time - he's finding sounds on his drums never before possible, using fingers, hands, rods or sticks. And what an amazing extra mic position the "f" holes in the shells provide!

It doesn't matter if Roy is playing funk, jazz, rock, fusion, with a 30 piece orchestra or creating a film soundtrack - it's been a great journey we've had together so far.

Kayleigh Moyer

Kayleigh Moyer jumped head-on into the Nashville drumming scene straight out of Belmont and already has cred under her belt. From studio recordings, live recordings at The Grand Ole Opry, touring all over the world with Barrage 8, to playing with Keith Urban at the CMT Awards.

Kayleigh is versatile over many styles of music on both drums and percussion with a very committed work ethic. Mothertone has been proud to support Kayleigh since we discovered this clearly exceptional young artist studying Commercial music at Belmont University Nashville several years ago. And it's been great.

Early on, we decided to feature a nervous Kayleigh as a performer at the 2014 Nashville Drum Show and at our NAMM Shows.... (they are tough audiences), but as expected, fantastic feedback followed from impressed audiences. Whether in the studio, or on live performance, Kayleigh does the job ‘right’, with true commitment to the task. This is what everybody is looking for in an artist.

Louis "Flip" Winfield

Louis Winfield is an award winning, sensational drummer who sure puts on a show. Louis has played on a bunch of number one's and Juno award performances which are the Canadian Grammy® equivalent.

He's a super tight and funky groove drummer who is also visually very impressive. Sticks spin, and the solo bursts rip it up while still laying it down solid in the pocket. It’s great to see an artist who gets the balance and knows when and when not to hit it.

Don't miss the chance to see Louis Winfield play live in any of the many acts he appears with. Simply a great seasoned professional in both live and recording circles.

Lay them fat beats Louis Winfield!

Russ Garner

Larry Mitchell, Paul Childers Berklee trained

Russ has done several tours playing with Grammy® Award winner Larry Mitchell since an impressive time at Berklee College Of Music. Russ is now playing with Paul Childers and also with the Grant Garland Trio.

Somehow Russ also seems to find time to be recording on a bunch of other peoples albums. There's certainly no shortage of work showing on this in demand drummer's calendar.

Make sure you check out where you can see and hear Russ playing live all over the United States and see why he's getting the work. He sure gives one heck of a product demonstration.

Doug Tann

Session Drummer/Musical Director

We barely know where to start with this extensive career spanning 40 years.

Doug has performed and recorded with Stanley Clarke, Regina Carter, Della Reese, Dean Martin, The BBC Radio Orchestra, The S.I.R Hollywood Big Band plus many more and has headlined in Las Vegas as both a Musical Director and Drummer.

Doug is highly regarded as a player and for his technical skills. He has written drum books that are well beyond the minds of many.

Chad Ray Crochet

Chad Ray Crochet certainly separates himself from the rest of the country music industry by being the only singing drummer to ever take lead vocals in Nashville.

Chad’s performances have caught the eyes of thousands of fans throughout the United States and in a single year, Chad has performed in front of more than 400,000 real people as opposed to counting his television/internet etc..... That's hard work.

His music is rooted deep in the Texas honkytonks and bars, topped with the energy of a Cajun music festival.

Chad started sharing stages with country music legends such as Johnny Rodriguez and Ray Price right out of high school and finely honing his craft before his move to Nashville where he has played countless shows and commenced many tours from.

Brian Dendy

The Soul Inspirations

Brian has a degree in Music Performance and Music Business from Columbia College Chicago but before that he hit the Illinois jam band music scene at the age of fifteen, going on to play and record with groups ranging from metal, prog rock, R&B/soul, hip hop and rock.

And he studied with some legends.

Then he travelled, to foreign lands where he learned from other cultures and music styles. He is now back in the USA and playing with David Deon and The Soul Inspirations.

We love this picture of Brian as it was taken only days after he got his drums from us and just couldn't resist playing it left handed/footed despite just having a knee operation.

Mickl Sayers

The Screaming Jets

The Screaming Jets have been found very often in the Australian charts for almost 30 years with many great albums to their name. A powerful and consistent band indeed.

Playing drums in a band like The Screaming Jets is not a job for a lightweight. When their music moves right up to its heady heights of rock’n’roll craziness you need to be able to play like you’re firing mortar shells from a tree line. Mickl delivers and the drums survive. An awesome hard working product tester for sure!!
