Artists on their Journey.
Here is just a small selection of the range of artists we work with.
Mothertone has had the absolute pleasure of working with so many wonderfully talented artists as they create and perform all over the world.
It is very important to us to support musicians..... whether they be a seasoned Grammy winner or a talented up and coming artist.... we help them to make and take the smart and important steps forward.
We provide the right tools and support throughout their journey... whatever stage they're at or on!
Roy "Futureman" Wooten
Roy 'Futureman' Wooten is a super creative, five-time Grammy® award winning artist who always pushes the boundaries - and he really loves his set of drums that we custom built for him at Mothertone in Nashville TN.
The first set we produced for Roy was based on the Sleishman system with plenty of custom work at Mothertone HQ. We inverted the bass drum to "face north", put together some amazing twin pedals to suit. We then fitted custom maple shells with 'f' holes in the shells. This set-up allows Roy to truly express himself in new ways - he's found sounds on his drums never before possible, using fingers, hands, rods or sticks. And what an amazing extra mic position the "f" holes in the shells provide!
Since then, we have built an even more wonderful string based, pitch bendable Mothertone full custom set for Roy and it doesn't matter if Roy is playing funk, jazz, rock, fusion, with a 30 piece orchestra or creating a film soundtrack - it's been a great journey we've had together so far.
Touring and recording with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, The Wooten Brothers, his own Orchestra and many more.

The great Joe Berger on the desk at our 2nd Mother Of All Hangs. Joe played with Jon Hammond at our SummerNAMM hangs that night also. In fact Joe has never missed playing a Mothertone SummerNAMM Hang. And he already says he's in for next year. Thanks Bergermeister
Michael Turner, Nate "J Wackerseed" Mould. Thanks Johnny. Nate is a far better drummer than you may expect from a robot with a drum shell head. Nate is currently playing for both The Bedrock, Brooks Hubbard and more... a busy boy.
